Assessment of Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Dynamics During the Cardiac Cycle by Three-dimensional Echocardiography

چکیده
Methods Forty two patients referred for transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) were prospectively included. All TEE studies were performed with a three-dimensional transesophageal probe. For full-volume images, 4 gated beats were acquired for offline analysis. The cardiac cycle was divided in proto-systole (S1), mid-systole (S2) and tele-systole (S3) and proto-diastole (D1), mid-diastole (D2) and tele-diastole (D3). The LVOT area was measured by planimetry of the short axis, through orthogonal sections to the LVOT long axis in each phase.

Role of 3D Echocardiography in Cardiac Surgery: Strengths and Limitations
PURPOSE OF REVIEW This review aims to highlight the general and specific strengths and limitations of intraoperative 3D echocardiography. This article explains the value of real-time three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (RT 3D TEE) during cardiac surgery and cardiac interventions. RECENT FINDINGS Recently published recommendations and guidelines include the use of RT 3D TEE. RT ...
متن کاملMitral Valve Three-dimensional Echocardiography: Friend or Foe?
Three-dimensional echocardiography has widely transformed the world of cardiac imaging over the last decade. One of the most outstanding changes is that cardiologists have stopped believing dogmatically in formulas which, based on linear parameters, are able to calculate the area of different cardiac structures assuming a regular and symmetrical morphology and a single plane spatial arrangement...

Material and Methods: We prospectively included 58 patients sent to our lab for a transesophageal echocardiographic study (TEE). All TEE were done with a 3DEcho probe, obtaining gated images (4 beats, complete volume) for off-line analysis. The cardiac cycle was divided in proto (S1), mid (S2) and telesystole (S3); and proto (D1), mid (D2) and telediastole (D3). The LVOT area was measured by pl...
متن کاملDiscrete subaortic stenosis.
Data concerning 17 consecutive patients with discrete subaortic stenosis are recorded. Twelve patients underwent operative resection of the obstructing lesion. Of these all except one were symptomatic and all had electrocardiographic evidence of left ventricular hypertrophy or left ventricular hypertrophy with strain. They had a peak resting systolic left ventricular outflow tract gradient of g...
متن کاملIntraoperative three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography for evaluating an unusual structure in the left ventricular outflow tract: a case report
Intraoperative three-dimensional (3D) transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) facilitates an understanding of the complex cardiac pathology that is not fully delineated in a two-dimensional (2D) echocardiographic evaluation, and it suggests earlier and more precise surgical planning and intraoperative decision making. In the present case, the intraoperative 2D-TEE midesophageal long-axis view in...
